Finished the entire Mueller Report.
There’s hardly any new info because it’s almost all redacted. I can see why Dems are pissed. However, one thing the news keeps downplaying (Trump’s people, especially) is that Mueller repeatedly states that he has plenty of evidence to suggest Trump and/or his people were working directly with Wikileaks and did try to collude with Russia. I know some news outlets have mentioned the parts about how Trump failed because the people around him refused to carry out orders, but that information is only in one section. In all others, there were successful contacts or meetings. In Don Jr’s case, he was in direct contact with an unknown source at Wikileaks whom he hoped was Assange and whom he went around bragging about openly.
Here’s the problem with the redactions. Anyone capable of reading for context will see Barr intentionally redacted passages containing pertinent information regarding Trump and Russian or Wikileaks contacts. In one section, Barr redacted the title of the subsection and all information that would reveal whether or not Trump knew that he was attending RALLIES organized by Russian intelligence and propaganda machines. Very few of Barr’s redactions seem valid and something not being mentioned by news is Barr showed preferential treatment in redacting far more Repub names/sources than Dem when he claimed he was protecting sources or personal information. He did redact the names of Clinton’s aides who were involved with the email scandal, but that was just about it.
So, if you’re getting frustrated that the news keeps repeating themselves, it’s because Barr is obstructing justice and produced a document that shields Trump from the public eye. Do not believe any claims that there is a lack of evidence or that Trump is innocent. At no point is that stated. In fact, Mueller made sure to explain as early on as his executive summary that he has tons of evidence, but due to TRUMP limiting his abilities for investigation, he was unable to bring forth a charge against him. That is the real reason he handed it over to Congress and why people are so pissed at these redactions.
Even if many of Trump’s attempts to collude or conspire were unsuccessful, there were successful meetings or contacts made. Mueller points out that he could not determine Trump’s intentions behind the contact that was established… NOT that no contact occurred. I believe the unredacted report would end the Trump presidency, just based on the limited context and information Barr let through. I mean, it’s pretty freaking obvious what you’re hiding when you keep the first half of a sentence introducing Trump and Russia/Wikileaks, but then you redact the body of the paragraph. Barr thinks we are idiots.
I read this because I got frustrated by the news coverage yesterday and I don’t trust people to interpret or analyze information for me. I was expecting a hatchet job, but this version of the report is simply laughable. Barr clearly redacted all information that would reveal Trump and his administration’s actions. He needs to be jailed and disbarred. Now.
